Ômina Romana
Ômina Romana
The ÔMINA ROMANA line is our core line. The signature style of our winery is clearly evident in these wines. The Hermes Diactoros and Diana Nemorensis cuvées, as well as the Merlot Rosato, are aged for 6 to 12 months in stainless steel. They retain their clear and delicate aromas. The Chardonnay matures primarily on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks under bâtonnage. The fruit is crafted in such a way as to bring it to the forefront. The single-varietal red wines Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot also mature in stainless steel tanks. The ancient Roman autochthonous variety Cesanese is aged for about a year in French oak barrels. The wines of the ÔMINA ROMANA line are distinguished by their typical varietal character, featuring dense aromas, balanced acidity, a long finish, and a pleasant, smooth drinking experience. Their terroir is unmistakable. The aging potential of ÔMINA ROMANA wines is outstanding – even once opened, they retain their quality and freshness for a very long time.
Ars Magna
Ars Magna
ARS MAGNA – “the great art” – stands for powerful, top-quality wines with depth and precision. They are characterized by a complex bouquet and confidently measure up to the great wines of the world.
They tell the story of their premier vineyard sites, the diverse volcanic soil profiles, and the unique microclimate. At the same time, they reflect the uncompromising work in the vineyard by the ÔMINA ROMANA team as well as the meticulous vinification under the direction of chief oenologist Claudio Gori. The grapes come exclusively from the best plots and are selected by hand up to five times even while still on the vine. Fresh sea breezes and pronounced day-night temperature fluctuations promote a high concentration of aromas and ensure the natural acidity structure.
For the white wines, vinification takes place without pressing: thanks to the Extravelvet process developed by the University of Florence, all polyphenols and tannins are fully preserved. The wines age for up to 24 months in five different types of French barriques with frequent bâtonnage, followed by aging in stainless steel tanks and then at least one year in the bottle. During these aging phases, they develop their depth, structure, and olfactory complexity. This results in wines with exceptional complexity, precise acidity, and the unmistakable style of ÔMINA ROMANA.
The Great Art
The ARS MAGNA collection is inspired by the philosophy of the same name developed by the medieval universal scholar Ramon Llull (1232–1316). It symbolizes perfection as well as the interplay of nature, spirit, science, technology, and human skill.
ARS MAGNA is not built on complexity arising from chance or intuition, but on structure. ÔMINA ROMANA is committed to the pursuit of perfection, creative intelligence, and the masterful union of craftsmanship and intellect. A commitment that consistently prioritizes order, truth, and quality over banality and any form of convenience.
