FESTA IN THE BASEMENT BY ÔMINA ROMANA, WITH HEINZ BECK

June 28, 5:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Ômina Romana will once again open the doors of its winery to welcome wine and culinary excellence enthusiasts for the new edition of Festa in Cantina, the event conceived by the Börner family with the special participation of the tristate chef Heinz Beck of Rome's La Pergola restaurant.

It will be an evening of taste and conviviality, immersed in the rows of the Alban Hills, in the spaces of the Velletri estate. An event that combines artisans of taste, authentic flavors of the territory, starred cuisine and fine wines signed Ômina Romana, all accompanied by pleasant moments of entertainment.

"We are looking forward to celebrating once again this festival, which for us represents a special moment of sharing and passion for our work," says Katharina Börner, at the helm of the winery and second generation at the helm of Ômina Romana, founded by her father Anton F. Börner in 2007 within the Colli Albani district, with the aim of restoring luster to wines and places that are rich in charm and have their roots in Ancient Rome. "We want to offer our guests a journey into the heart of our winery, among flavors, scents and stories that speak of our deep connection with this territory."

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., after the welcome among the vineyards, the public will be able to access the route that winds its way through different"gastronomic islands," with proposals created for the occasion by Heinz Beck and his brigade: signature appetizers, refined first courses and exclusive desserts, designed to be paired with Ômina Romana wines.

Alongside the chef of La Pergola, many artisans will be present again this year with their specialties, starting with three protagonists of the Velletri food scene: the breads of Sfarinando bakery, the pizzas of O'Zoo and the Fassona carpaccio of Up bistrot. Along with them the famous porchetta of L'Antica Norcineria Castelli di Nemi, ue, finally, directly from the Capital, the refined sushi of Marè Sushi&Wine and the ice creams of the artisanal laboratory Biolèe.

On tasting, of course, will be a selection of the winery's best wines: from the white Hermes Diactoros II, to the rosé Ômina Romana Merlot, to the red Diana Nemorensis I, not forgetting labels from the prestigious Ars Magna line, the highest expression of the winery's terroir.

The 2025 edition of Festa in Cantina will also be enriched by the presence of artist Vincenzo Pennacchi, who lives and works in Velletri, where over the years his studio has become a point of reference for art historians and intellectuals. Vincenzo for the occasion will exhibit some of his works in the spaces of the estate, part of a research path in the field of expanded painting, theorized by critic Gianluca Marziani, through large canvases and environmental installations in dialogue with the surrounding space. Recent projects include an exhibition at La Nuvola di Fuksas in Eur and the Archaeological Museum of SS. Stigmata in Velletri curated by Gabriele Perretta. In some of the works exhibited at the Festa in Cantina Pennacchi explores the perception of space through unique mirrored telescopes, inspired by quantum physics, thus offering guests a unique immersive experience.

The festive atmosphere will continue until midnight, including glasses, flavors, art and live music, for an evening of lightheartedness and joy with Ômina Romana and her guests.
