OUR PHILOSOPHY

The viticultural vocation of our land and our careful approach to it represent the perfect combination to guarantee fine wines. The vineyards of ÔMINA ROMANA, near Velletri, are located at an altitude of about 200 meters and 25 kilometers from the sea. During the day, a fresh breeze comes from the Tyrrhenian coast, while at night the wind blows from the Alban Hills, creating ideal conditions for healthy plant growth. Usually, a cold spring is followed by a sunny summer without extreme heat and a mild autumn, ideal conditions for the complete ripening of the grapes, which guarantee a soft flavor without unripe notes. The soil is volcanic, rich in a minerality that can provide strength to the vines, producing grapes with great aromatic richness. We cultivate the vines with low yields per hectare, selecting the bunches and eventually the individual berries both in the vineyard and in the cellar, proceeding afterwards with transformation at controlled temperature. Our wines receive their final touch after fermentation, with aging on fine lees for at least six months and from the wonderful phenolic exchange that takes place in small French oak barrels of different toastings, where the noblest aromas are imprinted. Afterwards, we take our time and have the patience to wait for the bottle aging to give our wines maturity and completeness.

Our product range shows various distinctive characteristics: elegant and soft, intense and complex, with delicate but mature fruity notes, all the way to wines of character and great finesse. These CHARACTERISTICS differ slightly each year, it is our aspiration to instill the CHARACTER according to the peculiarities of the vintage, because we want our wines to be convincing even when young, while still being able to age and mature further. Finally, we guarantee the unique and unmistakable ÔMINA ROMANA STYLE.
