4 AUTHORITATIVE ITALIAN WINE BLOGGERS VISITED THE ÔMINA ROMANA VINEYARDS

 by Maria Carla Magni

The summer of 2021 was a new rebirth for Ômina Romana, something well represented by the phoenix dominating our stylised logo as an emblem of renewed splendour after a dark and difficult period.

Finally, after the forced long isolation due to the lockdown, the doors of the Velletri winery were reopened to the many visitors who, throughout the summer, were also able to get to know the team of professionals who work every day on site with strength and dedication, engaged in the several vineyard activities. Despite everything stacked against them, they have always worked tirelessly, since nature never stops and the same applies to wine production. Given the amazing success of the visits, the winery will reopen to visits during spring 2022.

However, before the 2021 harvest ended, bringing renewed success and excellent results, some of Italy's most representative wine bloggers came to visit us.

Our friends Eleonora from @Enozioni, Emanuele from @Enoblogger, Anais from @TheWineTeller and Stefano from @ItalianWines stayed at the winery for two days where, between visits to the vineyard accompanied by our agronomist Paula and to the cellar, in the realm of our oenologist Simone and, in between tastings, a cheerful evening was organised: The country barbecue, personally prepared for the occasion by hostess Katharina Boerner, was paired with a selection of Omina Romana vintage wines, of course.

Between one toast and another, we got to know our guests better and, as it happens during pleasant late-summer evenings at the table and, most of all, in good company, we discussed their different experiences and how the work of the Wine Blogger has become, increasingly popular on the main social networks, all the more so after we experienced the various lockdown phases.

Let's find out who they are as we let our 'fantastic 4 Influencers' speak directly to us.

My path in the food and wine sector started as I studied to become a Sommelier for the AIS, the Italian association of Sommeliers; then I acquired a Master's degree at SDA Bocconi University in "Food&Beverage Management" after I achieved a degree in Public Relations and Advertising at the IULM University.

My expertise started after the first timid tastes, back when I was on holiday in the Tuscan countryside with my grandparents, then my curiosity turned into a passion and I experienced a desire to learn more and more, until it became my main profession (without ever quitting my studies and experiments). In 2014 I opened my blog and my social media presence arrived shortly afterwards but I don't remember exactly when they started to define me as an "influencer". If I had to describe my style I'd say it's 'emotional' and stylistically supported by well-curated and aesthetically appealing visual contents (in the digital milieu, the eye wants its share and image is as strategic as good copywriting). My goal is to ensure that - Enozioni - is perceived as a "creative boutique" and becomes an authoritative reference at international level and, if all goes well, a television format. FAVOURITE WINES by Ômina Romana: Hermes Diactoros II white - Diana Nemorensis I- as well as a genuine attraction for the Extra Virgin Olive Oil made entirely from olives from our own olive groves.

- Stefano Quagliarini@ ITALIAN WINES

I achieved a degree in oenology from the Faculty of Viticulture and Oenology of Pisa and I approached the sector almost by chance, or, I should say, rather late, when I was 18 years old and discovered that the Faculty of Oenology existed. Since then I have kept myself informed in order to understand the whole world behind any and all glasses of wine. At that point, I became more and more passionate as I progressed through my University studies. Shortly before graduating, I realised that my channel on social media was becoming a full-fledged professional engagement and a job that I then developed by managing the social side of various companies. My narrative path on social media features a technical and oenological slant, but it is a type of direct communication that aims to simplify the terms and topics of viticulture and oenology at the same time, in order to make such terms and topics more accessible to wine enthusiasts and not only to technicians in the sector. My aim is to continue developing my work in order to bring more and more people in touch with the world of wine through social communications. FAVOURITE WINES by Ômina Romana: 2016 Merlot Ars Magna, 2017 Cabernet Franc Ars Magna and 2019 Viognier Ars Magna

- Emanuele Trono@ ENOBLOGGER

I graduated in Business and Management and then I attended the AIS Sommellier courses, then I acquired a Master's in Italian Wine Culture at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Cuneo, Italy. I approached the world of wine while working in a restaurant, as my interest grew with the passion, which became irrepressible; therefore, I decided to study the sector in depth. In 2017 I opened my social channel and the first requests for collaboration by some companies started from there. By using my narrative path, I try to tell the story of wine in a simple and dynamic way, without overlooking the lifestyle details related to my other interests. I hope that I keep living every day with the opportunity to do what I love and therefore always waking up with a smile. FAVOURITE WINES by Ômina Romana: 2020 Hermes Diactoros II white; 2016 Merlot Ars Magna and 2019.Viognier Ars Magna

- Anais Cancino@ THEWINETELLER

My training in the sector started as I attended the Alma, AIS and WSET Sommelier Master Courses. I approached the world of wine when I lived in Paris and started studying wine at a very young age together with my studies in Economics. In 2016 I started my activity on social media, where I like to tell the stories behind every bottle of wine I taste and, above all, I let wine always be the main protagonist. A future dream of mine? Maybe producing my own wine one day! FAVOURITE WINES by: Ômina Romana 2016 Cesanese, 2017 Viognier and Viognier Ars Magna.

To commemorate this special meeting and to round off the excellent 2021 vintage, which was better than expected, we have created a few selected suggestions, based on the clues by our 4 Wine-Bloggers.

Ômina Romana has created exclusive "tasting sets" dedicated to Eleonora, Stefano, Emanuele and Anais, all of which are available on our Shop page.
